ABOUT

Simon Gill is a professional photographer who has specialised in covering sport since 2004. He focuses on professional cycling and football but has the opportunity to work on any projects that interest him.

He has a degree in design photography and began his career working for a sports photography agency.

Now his clients include The Cycling Podcast, Procycling and When Saturday Comes and his work has appeared in The Times and The Guardian.

He has covered all three of cycling’s grand tours – the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España – and enjoys the freedom to look for a different angle in order to capture the majesty of the landscape as well as the detail of the race action.

Simon’s photography will feature in The Cycling Podcast’s debut book, A Journey Through the Cycling Year, to be published by Yellow Jersey Press in 2018. He also took the portrait for the jacket of In His Own Words, the autobiography of former England manager Graham Taylor.

He is a keen cyclist and in 2016 he rode from his home in Tring, Hertfordshire, to Tromsø in Norway.

All of the photographs in the gallery on this website are available to buy as prints.
